“What can I do?” This is the most commonly heard question we’ve heard over the course of making our film. Well if you haven’t seen it you can watch the film Taking Liberties and read the book as we’ve deliberately put in suggestions of different ways you can take action.

For us, the most immediate change that needs to be made is to get rid of the ghastly protest ban around parliament. There is a petition on the Downing Street website and every month Mark Thomas leads a Mass Lone Demonstration which is a perfectly legal and fun way to get your message across. There’s also a petition to repeal SOCPA on the Downing Street Website.

On the 13th-19th October Amnesty International is organising Protect the Human Week to stand up for human rights around the world. Find out more here

There are other suggestions for getting involved here and a list of lots of groups that are already doing great work here.

And finally, for goodness sake, please vote at the next fucking General election. I’d be the last person to say who to vote for, but millions died so you could have that vote so it’s an insult to what our ancestors had to go through if you can’t be arsed to use it.
